15 things that smell really f*cking good
disclaimer: Nothing here is sponsored, they are all things I use and I love. I made the amazon links affiliate so they do throw me a few coins on those.
Le Labo Hand Soap
Le Labo makes two great liquid hand soaps. The Basil is nice, but Hinoki is my favorite. It's warm and sexy. After I use it I just want to meet people so they can smell me. Neither are too overpowering and I sometimes prefer washing my hands with this instead of using cologne.
Buy Hinoki from Le Labo $42 USD
(Basil is out of stock right now but here's the link if you want to get notified)
Aesop Hand Soap
About five years ago I started to see this hand soap in the bathroom of every guy who made more money than me. It's a nice experience with the little bits that exfoliate and it smells like cedar. It's a safe pick to put out for guests.
Buy it from Aesop $39 USD
Harry's Body Wash - Fig
This Dollar Shave competitor expanded to making body wash a few years back and the Fig scent is correct. It smells like a luxury cologne. Some people might compare it to Diptyque Fig or Byredo's Pulp. If you're sensitive to strong smells tread lightly since this one stays on your body for a while. I gave the other Harry's scents a shot but they aren't spectacular. Fig is the one.
Buy one directly from Harry's - $7 USD
Buy a four-pack from Amazon - $28 USD
Nécessaire The Body Exfoliator With Bamboo Charcoal
This is a great-smelling shower scrub that feels really good on my butthole. It has a light amount of exfoliant so you can use it on your hole every day if you want to. The Sandalwood scent is nice but the Eucalyptus is where it's at.
Buy it from Sephora - $30 USD
Studio Ready Hot Coffee Scrub
It's a coffee scrub that smells a sweet because it's made for your butthole and people who eat it.
Buy it from Studio Ready $49-79
Barfly Cologne
I feel dumb for only learning recently that the very special smell in Scotch & Soda was their own cologne, Barfly. I'm in love with it. Barfly is citrusy with some sandalwood, lavender, and vanilla. It's daytime sexy, a good price, and my favorite regular cologne.
Buy it from Scotch & Soda - $60 USD
Tom Ford Oud Wood Cologne
Tom Ford puts out a strong line of colognes - Vanilla Tobacco, Lost Cherry, Noir Extreme, and Ombre Leather among them. But the best is Oud Wood. It's perfection. Woodsy and doesn't wear you.
Buy it from Sephora $65-365 USD
Dior Sauvage Cologne
Another good standby cologne for me. There's bergamot and pepper. I'd describe it as clean and spicy. Like you chopped a few trees but somehow also freshly showered.
Buy it from Sephora $59-200 USD
Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb Cologne
It is a spice bomb. Bergamot, elemi, grapefruit, pink pepper, cinnamon, vetiver, tobacco accord, chili, saffron and leather. It's the most intense of all my colognes and its for when I'm feeling my Daddy vibes.
Buy it from Amazon $59 USD
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream
Van Leeuwen is an ice cream shop that started in NYC and has now popped up in a few different cities. They have several stellar flavors but the smell and taste of two really do it for me. The first is Salted Caramel. It's a really mature version of salted caramel. Like it's gone through something and came back stronger. It smells and tastes amazing. 2) Honeycomb. When I buy a pint and I take the lid off immediately and smell it. It's creamy and sweet and caramelized. If you have a Van Leeuwen in your city you should stop in, or buy directly from their website.
Le Labo Candle - Laurier 62
If you're never had a Le Labo candle, you should know they are supreme. To me they fill the room with this sort of quality as if a good-smelling person was just standing there, and not a candle. Like everything else on this list, "good" scents are specific to who's doing the smelling (me) so I'd encourage you to check out one of their retail stores and smell some colognes/candles or try one of their 3-set votive samplers online.
Everyone's favorite Le Labo candle is the Palo Santo 14, and while I think it's great, there's nothing better than the Laurier. Even the idea that I'm going to light one puts me in a good mood. It's got eucalyptus, rosemary, laurel, thyme, cumin, clove, amber, patchouli, and sandalwood. I get emotional when it's getting low because I love it so much, and also because it's an $80 candle.
But it from Le Labo $78 USD
That Target Black Bamboo Candle
As much as I love expensive candles it's not practical to burn them all the time, so finding a good staple like this one is important. Target makes a clean, inoffensive bamboo scented-candle.
Buy it from Target $12 USD
Palo Santo Sticks
I love these sticks. They are used in South America to push away bad energy and I'm hoping they do the same to me. They smell piney and smokey. It's also a cute set up with the dish that's a nice change up from a candle. These are a little more natural smelling than incense but if you don't enjoy that hard burn, you might not like these.
These are the sticks I buy from Amazon $9.99 USD
This is the holder I have from Amazon $17.89 USD. I like a more simple look but there are all sorts of different designs.
Boy Smells Candles
Several companies have cannabis candles but no one does it like Boy Smells. The Kush series is what made them popular, but their other candles are knockouts too. I've fallen for them all.
Kush is their OG cannabis candle. It smells like cannabis and tulips. It's not too overpowering and guests always compliment the scent.
Cowboy Kush my favorite of their Kushes. It's less cannabis and more suede. I love this one during sex.
Purple Kush is my second favorite Kush. Cannabis and violets. If you love violets this is the ONE.
Cashmere Kush is a lighter, sweeter kush. Cashmere wood and florals.
Italian Kush is my least favorite of the five, since to me it smells like an armpit. It's a really ripe, stinky, skunky weed smell. You might like it though, you pig.
June's is my favorite of all their candles. It smells very much like bergamot and coriander. Also little bits of anise. Amazing, balanced candle.
Cameo is my second favorite of theirs. I just love the way they add vanilla to their candles. You'll smell ginger, rose, vanilla.
St. Al is very beach cottage vibes. Like an old beach cottage. Sandalwood.
Lanai is a good mellow coconut candle.
Redhead isn't sexy like their other candles, it's more sweet and pleasant. Not that red heads aren't sexy.
Ash is one of their strongest smelling candles and one of their most popular. I can appreciate this one and Cedar Stack but I don't go crazy over these like I do some of the others.
Hinoki Fantome is incredible. One of my favorites of theirs. Can you tell I like Hinoki? Really good balance with the other florals in this candle too.
The Fantome is one of their newest candles and it's not that special. It just smells like tea, but not as good as actually brewing tea.
Slow Burn by Kacey Musgrave is a charming collab the queer people needed. However, it's not my absolute favorite of theirs. It sells out because why wouldn't you want the Kacey Musgraves Slow Burn candle lit when your guests arrive, but don't be too bummed if you aren't able to get one. There are better Boy Smells candles out there.
Rhubarb Smoke is the best rhubarb candle you can buy... but only if you like incense. I love the smell and taste of rhubarb but it's a hard scent to get right in a candle. sometimes it can smell too artificial. But there's something about the mix of the incense and rhubarb and tea that makes this one smell so correct.
Buy them all from Boy Smells $30-$80
